MWE Roofing - Single-Ply Roofing Featured Project

LOCATION:

MCauley High School

Joplin, Missouri

PROJECT OVERVIEW:

The roof of McAuley High School had been experiencing persistent issues due to aging materials and inadequate insulation, leading to leaks and reduced energy efficiency. To restore the integrity of the roofing system and provide long-term protection for the school, a complete roof replacement was undertaken.

The project began with the tear-off and disposal of the failing roofing materials. The roof decking was thoroughly cleaned and inspected to ensure a stable surface for the new installation. 2” ISO insulation board was installed to provide enhanced thermal insulation and energy savings.

A 60 Mil PVC Membrane was chosen for its proven durability and reliability, particularly for low-slope roofs. The membrane was securely fastened using plates and screws, with seams sealed using a Varimat heat welder to create a watertight and long-lasting finish.

The new roof not only safeguards McAuley High School from the elements but also improves energy efficiency, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for students and staff for many years to come.
